Ultrasound Treatment

Ultrasound Treatment

The ultrasound works by sounds waves entering the body tissues, which cause small vibration of crystals within the head of the probe.

How does ultrasound treatment work?

The ultrasound waves pass through a coupling gel onto the skin and cause a vibration of the local soft tissues. This vibration or cavitation can cause a deep heating locally though usually the patient will feel no sensation of heat. If you do then your practitioner may choose to lower the dose if necessary. Ultrasound is a pain free treatment and is always used alongside other treatment methods including, soft tissue massage, and rehabilitation exercises.
