Knee pain is a very broad subject and might not necessarily be the cause of pain.

When looking at the knee we need to consider past medical history, what has changed in your current lifestyle, mechanism of injury, ankle or hip problems, muscle strength and movement patterns. All of these issues can contribute to knee pain and we quite often see this a lot here at Savage Sports Therapy

Common causes of Knee Pain

What common injuries can be found at the knee and cause knee pain:

  • Patella Tendonopathy
  • Ligament strains and ruptures
  • Meniscal tears
  • ITB friction Syndrome
  • Patella Maltracking
  • Bursitis
  • Osteoarthritis

Treatment for Knee Pain

Treatment all depends on what is causing the knee pain. A detailed examination will be done on the day, and dependant on what is found, treatment and a plan will be provided to help to eliminate your pain.

Treatment may include soft tissue massage, dry needling, taping, exercise prescription and rehabilitation. We will find out what is aggravating your knee and make alterations in your lifestyle to reduce your knee irritation.
